A dedicated global surf travel operation for Marc & Frédérique — July 2026 through July 2027
Marc,
There's a particular kind of conversation I remember from early in our partnership — the ones where a trip stopped being a holiday and started becoming something else. A standard. A point of reference. A benchmark for what travel could actually feel like when somebody took real care with it.
We've had a few of those over the past three years.
What you're describing now is the natural next chapter of that. Getting married to Frédérique, watching her fall properly in love with surfing, beginning to imagine what a shared life of intentional travel looks like — this is precisely the moment where a reactive, project-by-project approach starts to feel like the wrong tool for the job. Not because anything was wrong with it before, but because what you're building now deserves something more considered.
This proposal is my attempt to articulate what a standing partnership between you and Pangaea could look like — designed not just for seven trips across the next twelve months, but for the long arc of what comes after them. I think often about what I call the classroom of life dimension of travel: the idea that the world itself is the greatest education available to anyone, and that the quality of access, context, and presence you bring to it determines what you actually learn from it.
The places that produce the world's great waves are also, almost without exception, places of extraordinary culture and genuine humanity. Altruism and seeing the real world are not add-ons to what we do at Pangaea — they are foundational to how we design every journey. We connect with locals, support communities, and build itineraries that leave things better than we found them. What matters today with just the two of you will matter even more when children come along and begin to absorb the world through your example.
Pangaea's role, as I see it, is to serve as something like a consigliere to your global narrative. Not a booking service. Not a vendor. A trusted operator who has done the reconnaissance, built the relationships, understands the nuances, and shows up in the field when it counts — so that you can be fully present for the experience itself.
Two options follow. Both are built around the same core commitment. The distinction lies in the depth of the operation and the degree to which Pangaea is actively working on your behalf between trips — not just when you call us.
Pangaea is in the business of helping our clients write their own great stories — through remarkable escapades, fastidiously planned and personally delivered. We deal in the details of designing, building, and managing extraordinary journeys around the world. Our pedigree sits at the intersection of the superyacht industry, luxury safari operations, and elite expedition management.
From awe-inspiring, trailblazing travel to reimagining the better-known, we broaden the horizons of the typical and expected. We are our clients' ambassadors — connecting with locals, gaining access, and ensuring a warm welcome wherever the journey takes them.
Understanding your unique preferences — not templates, but portraits of how you want to travel.
Comprehensive vetting of venues, accommodations, transport, and activities — assembled into a flawless plan.
Longstanding relationships with the world's finest operators, properties, and fixers — used on your behalf.
All logistics, timelines, and contingencies managed — so the only thing you carry into the field is anticipation.
Live project document giving you and your representatives full real-time financial visibility.
Every programme is built with local communities in mind. We connect rather than consume.
The programme covers up to seven distinct engagements across the twelve-month period — from the centrepiece yacht expedition to nimble, swell-chasing strike missions scattered throughout the year.
The planning fees from Marc's current Fiji project are fully absorbed into the Vanguard Partnership at no additional cost. Programme year: 1 July 2026 – 30 June 2027.

Both tiers represent a significant departure from project-by-project engagement — replacing per-trip initiation fees with a standing annual commitment. The distinction is the degree to which Pangaea operates actively on your behalf between trips.
Reactive excellence. Pangaea is your precision planning operation — engaged when you're ready to move, executing at the highest standard.
Total command. Pangaea operates proactively — scouting on your behalf, building exclusive access, delivering the full weight of our field capability.
As a Vanguard partner, Marc holds first-right-of-refusal on new Pangaea offerings before they are made available to the broader client network — exclusive destinations, newly secured breaks, vetted properties, and curated experiences currently in development. You will always be the first call.
For the avoidance of doubt and to facilitate your review, the following sets out each fee category in full — what it covers, when it applies, and how it interacts with the programme structure.
A $6,500 Engagement Fee is ordinarily required to initiate any new research or concept production outside of a standing programme. This fee is fully creditable toward future planning hours or project management fees. Under this annual programme, all engagement fees are waived in full for every trip initiated during the programme year.
